OMG!!! 7 months!!!

Seriously, I can't believe it's been seven months since I last posted!! And over a year for the post before that!! I guess I'm just too busy ..... I'm quite sure I've done ALOT of knitting, some spinning and lots of riding on the scoot. My cousin Tiffany is marrying Mr. Cheeks and she's asked me to be in the wedding! My loverley daughter is going to Germany for the fall semester.... maybe I will visit her! I am going to have a booth at the Endless Mtns Fiber Festival in September..... and I'm trying to loose a few pounds for the wedding so I got me a Wii and several games now if I can only get my rumpus on it regularly!!!!

Ta, Ta for now!

All Hallows Eve.......

.... So here is my latest finished spinning project. I purchased 4/1 oz. batts from BohoKnitterChic (unable to link at this time) and she had a SAL (Spin a long) for the month of October. I finished this in the knick of time!!Even the batts were "smooth" because there were different types of fiber such as angelina, bamboo etc... I had a hard time spinning this thin. Which is what I wanted to do in order to make socks. It ended up being sort of a worsted weight, after plying, so I think I'm going to make a scarf. All of the SAL projects are being voted on in her group on Ravelry. I know I will not win, but I've got like 8 votes and I'm happy with that, but mostly I'm happy that I participated in a SAL and finished in the time I was given!!

Rather Red...

...well, I'm on vacation..... spent the afternoon doing some dying for the "4 Weeks of Halloween" club and decieded to dye some yarn that was given to me awhile ago..
I've got 5 total, 100gm skeins of an alpaca/wool mix. I believe it to be a sport weight yarn, not sure yet of the yardage. 2 skeins are a lighter brown than the other 3 but I dyed them all red. The pictures are the before and after of the lighter brown. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I've been thinking about a "honeycomb" vest..... it will depend on how much yardage I have....
Now that I have my camera hooked up to the computer, I'm hoping to A) Blog more and B) post more pics!!! We'll see how this week goes...

Long time.....

...since I posted!! So I thought I would show you what I have been up to, or some of it anyways.....
The top left picture is of the red scarf I'm making out of Holiday Yarns fingering sock weight yarn... it's ALOT longer than the picture and I'm hoping to have it finished and wear it this Friday for "First Friday" at Spin A Yarn. Yes, yours truley is the "Artist of the Month"!!!! The next picture: The blue sweater. I started this sweater about 4 years ago for my sister-in-law Liz. I finished it this July and sadly.... it does not fit her!! But the good news is that I have 5 sister-in-laws and it does fit sister Kate!!!! And the last picture is of the baby sweater I made for Tracy's baby.... Tracy is Tracy99 on Ravelry and part of our knitting group that meets at Barne's & Noble on Tuesday nights. She is due this October, the weekend of Rhinebeck!!!! Congradulations Tracy and Kevin!!!
Well that's it for now..... not too much spinning lately but lots of participation for the PhatFiber box..... more on that later....

Birthday gift......

....My wonderful husband got this Fricke S160 for me and it came with all of this loverly fiber!! He got it from http://www.artclub.etsy.com I love it and have spun up just a few skiens. I'd really like to get some more time on it, but I always seem to be working or just too tired. Luckily our knitting group has decided to dedicate Sundays to being spin day and are taking turns at hosting in our homes. I'm looking forward to hosting myself this fall......

Birthday guests.....

So, from left to right we have: my tattoed freak-of-a-brother, Charlie (love ya bro and i'm fairly tattooed and freaky myself!!), my georgeous cousin Heidi, and my beautiful daughter, Alex.... In the next pic is my Poppy, who is on oxygen due to COPD and is in 4th stage kidney failure. On the right of me is his girlfriend Yvonne and on Poppy's left is my Aunt Pat. I'm so glad that they were all able to share this day with me. We had dinner at the Fuji San on the Vestal Parkway. This is one of my favorite places to eat and I usually get to go there on my birthday.... I'm also so happy that my Pops was able to come..............
